Vardan

Operating from Italy as a one-man depressive suicidal black metal project whose true identity remains undisclosed, Vardan unleashes atmospheric surges of gloom that summon echoes of Striborg, Nortt, Mortiis, and Panopticon. The project issued its debut full-length LP, Hidden in a Tomb, in 2007. A collaborative split LP alongside Striborg followed in 2010, after which a steady stream of additional full-length releases appeared—typically four or five annually—with notable entries including Lifeless Shadow in 2013, The Woods Is My Coffin in 2014, Despicable Broken Hope in 2015, and From the Pale Moonlight in 2017. Also surfacing that same year were three volumes of previously unreleased archival recordings titled Nostalgia: Archive of Failures, Pts. 1-3.
