Biography
An uncompromisingly American heavy metalcore group, Vatican first surfaced in 2015 via the mosh pit-worthy EP Drowning the Apathy Inside before delivering their full-length debut, the equally punitive Sole Impulse, in 2019.
The straight-edge metallers, headquartered in Savannah, Georgia, came together that same year and issued Drowning the Apathy Inside. By 2017 the roster had settled around Jonathan Mackey, Nolan Mobley, Tom Lovejoy, Jonathan Whittle, and Josian Soto-Ramos. On that year’s Ache of Eternity the ensemble confronted mental illness, loss, and grief through extreme decibel prejudice, then returned in 2019 with their inaugural long-player, the post-hardcore and death metal-influenced Sole Impulse.
