Velocity

Velocity, a Greek hardcore outfit, came together in 1998 with Giorgos—also known as Havoc—on vocals, Kostas handling guitar, Giannis on bass, and Nikos at the drums. The singer and bassist, however, trace their own punk rock involvement back to the early 1980s. After signing with the local Black Lotus Records, the four-piece quickly issued three albums: the live set X-Epanastatis in 2001, whose title means "X-Rebel," followed by Axia kai Dinami in 2002, translated as "Value and Strength," and Eleftheria in 2004, rendered "Freedom." In line with their working-class, street-punk outlook, most of the band's lyrics are delivered in Greek.
