Biography
Atlanta-based indie outfit Von Grey revolves around the multi-instrumental skills of four classically trained sisters who share the family name. After moving away from their classical roots toward pop songwriting, Kathryn, Annika, Fiona, and Petra von Grey began crafting material that merged lush, electronically tinged pop with layered vocal harmonies and sweeping classical textures. The group issued its first release, a self-titled EP produced by Nick DiDia (Bruce Springsteen, the Gaslight Anthem), in late 2012, then spent the following period on extensive U.S. tours alongside Lindsey Stirling and Company of Thieves. Their second EP, Awakening, appeared in 2014, with the darker Panophobia EP arriving the next year. Before the 2017 release of the dark-toned single “Poison in the Water,” youngest sister Petra departed, leaving the remaining members to continue as a trio that closed out the year with the third EP, Trinity.
