Warren Vaché stands out as a dynamic jazz cornetist whose commitment to small-group swing has earned him consistent respect among listeners and peers. Possessing an inherently beautiful tone paired with an adventurous approach, he is the son of bassist Warren Vaché, Sr., and the brother of clarinetist Allan Vaché. His musical training came from Pee Wee Erwin, after which he accumulated formative experience alongside Benny Goodman, Vic Dickenson, and Bob Wilber. From the mid-'70s onward he has fronted his own groups, issuing the albums First Time Out in 1976, Polished Brass in 1979, and Warm Evenings in 1989.

During those early decades he frequently collaborated with tenor saxophonist Scott Hamilton. He has sustained a steady recording pace while appearing regularly at jazz parties and festivals devoted to swing. Later releases include Dream Dancing in 2004, Don't Look Back with the Scottish Ensemble in 2006, and Ballads and Other Cautionary Tales in 2011. In 2014 he reunited with longtime colleague saxophonist Alan Barnes on The Cobbler's Waltz, and three years later he recorded The Jazzcats alongside pianist George Small and French horn player Sarah Larson.
