Hailing from Louisiana's Bayou Country, Cajun fiddler Waylon Thibodeaux took up music at eight years old after being born and raised there. He claimed the title of state fiddle champion upon turning 16, after which his performances solidified as a staple along New Orleans' Bourbon Street. His initial broad recognition arrived via three contributions to the 1995 Mardi Gras Records release Margaritaville Café New Orleans--Late Night Gumbo. Among his other recordings stand 1993's Cajun Festival along with 1995's Like a Real Cajun, while later projects encompass In Jackson Square and Tu Me Fais Crier.
