Biography
Witchkiller emerged as a promising Canadian heavy metal outfit that disbanded after issuing just one EP in 1984. Metal Blade put out the recording, titled Day of the Saxons, which later attained collector status and granted the quartet lasting underground renown. Deeply shaped by Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, the lineup featured vocalist Doug Adams, guitarist Kurt Phillips, bassist Todd Pilon, and drummer Steve Batky. Once the group dissolved, each musician launched separate ventures, yet none achieved notable success. Adams and Pilon formed Reckless together, Phillips established the Christian metal band Warhag alongside his wife, and Batky reappeared as lead singer for I Napoleon.
