Biography
Forming in 1992, the Wooden Stars drew from their roots in jazz, post-punk, and indie to shape flowing, guitar-driven ballads. After two years performing locally in their Ottawa birthplace, Lunamoth Records issued the self-titled debut EP by the Stars, followed the next year by the full-length Very Same. Four years, two further releases, and a label change later, Matlock Records released the band's third album, The Moon, in 1999. That same year Elevator to Hell's Julie Doiron joined the Wooden Stars for a release that appeared in 2000.
