Biography
Melbourne, Australia serves as the home base for indie dance ensemble World's End Press, which came together in 2010 through the partnership of longtime companions John Parkinson on vocals and Rhys Richards on keyboards. Drummer Tom Gould and bassist Sashi Dharann later joined, enabling the quartet to fuse elements of Krautrock, disco, punk, space rock, and Jamaican lovers rock into their buoyant rhythms. After inking a deal with Liberation Music, the band enlisted producer Tim Goldsworthy—whose credits include Massive Attack, the Rapture, and Cut Copy—to helm sessions at the historic Rockfield Studios in Wales for the self-titled debut album that surfaced in 2013. Heavy road work followed, with shared bills alongside Hot Chip, Primal Scream, and Bloc Party that helped anchor the group within Australia’s festival circuit. Once bassist Dharann departed, the remaining members continued as a trio and delivered their next EP, Tall Stories, in 2015.
