Originating from Leeds in the United Kingdom, Worriedaboutsatan operate as a two-piece electronic act that fuses elements of electronica, glitch, IDM, rock, and techno. Gavin Miller and Tom Ragsdale formed the core, first crossing paths as students at Leeds College of Music. Shared enthusiasm for post-rock outfits such as Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky, together with atmospheric electronic projects like Boards of Canada and Underworld, cemented their partnership. They initially toyed with the name “Johnny Poindexter” before adopting Worriedaboutsatan from a track by Belgian rock band dEUS, a choice that captured their intent to merge overlapping and contrasting musical interests. Months of sonic exploration preceded their first independent outing, EP1, which appeared in 2006. Broader notice arrived only after EP2 surfaced the following year and drew attention from multiple publications. A stretch of refinement and atmospheric experimentation yielded their debut album Arrivals in 2009, a release repeatedly likened to the immersive worlds of Hammock and Stars of the Lid. Further exposure came through frequent placements in British television programming. The year closed with Arrivals Remixed, a set of reworkings by underground electronic producers.

Activity then paused while both musicians pursued separate endeavors, until the single “I’m Not/The Next Round” surfaced in 2014 on their own imprint, This Is It Forever. Their sophomore album Even Temper followed in 2015, earning approval for its blend of ethereal strings and acid house basslines. Live presentations evolved as well, with Miller handling all guitar duties and Ragsdale directing the digital and electronic layers. Tour dates multiplied, bringing support slots alongside Yndi Halda, 65daysofstatic, and Maybeshewill. Creative momentum carried into 2016 and the release of Blank Tape, an album that integrated organic and electronic components in balanced measure. Guest contributions came from Bristol electronic outfit Face + Heel and Vincent Cavanagh of Anathema.
