Biography
Yury Revich has earned recognition as a classical violinist while also pursuing extensive humanitarian initiatives and artistic projects. Demand remains high for his recordings of chamber works and concertos spanning multiple historical periods. He first took up the violin at age five under the guidance of his father, himself a third-generation player of the instrument. At seven he entered the Central Musical Academy of the Moscow Conservatory for lessons with Galina Turchaninova. Between 2005 and 2009 Victor Pikaizen served as his teacher, after which Pavel Vernikov instructed him at the Vienna Conservatory. His Carnegie Hall debut took place in 2009, followed in 2012 by the solo release “Russian Soul” on the Ars Produktion label. Subsequent recordings have appeared on Naxos, Odradek, and Capriccio Records. As artistic director of the non-profit series “Friday Nights with Yury Revich,” launched in 2016, he presents formal recitals interwoven with dance, fashion, and sensory arts. The series has partnered with UNICEF Austria, All for Autism, and additional organizations. In 2017 the “Dreamland” initiative raised money for clean-water installations in Syrian schools, and that same year Revich and Yuliya Draganova founded the Beethoven Society for Music and Research. The society grants an award to young musicians and scientists for notable achievements and organizes a competition open to violinists and pianists. In 2021 he joined Michael Halasz and the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra to record Saint-Georges: Symphonies Concertantes; Symphony in G major. Beyond standard repertoire he has produced crossover pieces that blend arrangements of established works with original material, among them the Green Anthem performed by one hundred musicians worldwide. Outside music he created the “Atalier” collection of eye jewelry, drawing inspiration from the forms of the world and sound.
