Punk rock outfit 30 Foot Fall navigated repeated personnel shifts before locking into its present configuration of vocalist Butch, drummer Brian, bassist Rubio, and guitarist Jason. The original roster featured vocalist Billy, bassist Jeff, guitarist Tony Avitia, and Rubio on drums. Rubio alone endured as the founding member while Billy and Tony Avitia moved on to I-45. Butch replaced Billy on vocals after the second performance, and Mitch took over bass from Jeff following the third show. Under that temporary arrangement the band produced two cassettes for Broken Note Records. When Mitch married and relocated to New Mexico, Rubio switched from drums to bass; Damon Delapaz, previously of Houston’s Fortress, then joined on drums. The group began performing in Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio, releasing the 7" Elementary School Love via Yo Mama’s Records in a limited run of 500 copies. Guitarist Tony Avitia exited by the end of 1994, prompting two successive one-off guitarists—both prior members of I End Result—first P-Nut, then Chris, who remained longer. Divided We Stand appeared on Fuzzgun Records less than six months later, followed by an extensive touring cycle. Twistworthy Records issued the 7" Junior High Sucked in early 1996, after which the band toured throughout Texas and Louisiana; the title track later surfaced on Fearless Records’ Punk Bites compilation. Fearless subsequently signed 30 Foot Fall, leading to the recording of Acme 143. Paranoid Records, based in Houston, released the 7" Cartoons in 1998, two of whose tracks—“Ida Know” and “Throwaway”—reappeared on a subsequent album. Drummer Delapaz departed afterward for River Fenix, later renamed Fenix TX, and Corey briefly filled the drum chair before Brian, formerly of Middlefinger, took over. Nitro Records signed the band in 1999 and issued Ever Revolving, Never Evolving. 30 Foot Fall has appeared on nearly two dozen compilations.
