Biography
Brazilian singer and producer Alex Ferrari achieved unexpected chart success in France during 2012 with “Bara Bará Bere Berê,” far from his homeland. Dorgival Dantas wrote and first performed the song, yet Ferrari laid down its initial recording in 2011. Once the track spread online and appeared on unauthorized file-sharing networks, listeners frequently credited it to Michel Teló, whose own version only deepened the confusion; Leo Rodriguez had meanwhile released a comparable take that began rising on the Dutch charts. Ferrari returned to the studio and issued a sertanejo-style rendition through EMI France in early 2012. That fresh mix ruled European clubs throughout the summer before reaching the top of the French charts in August of that year.
