Biography
Emerging from the Hollywood environment that propelled Buckcherry into hard rock prominence, American Pearl coalesced as a four-piece in 1997. Formation revolved around the celebrated Sunset Boulevard tattoo parlor owned by guitarist Kevin Quinn, a regular haunt for frontman guitarist Kevin Roentgen. After their separate ventures concluded, the pair resumed playing guitar and soon added drummer Noah Shane along with bassist Rodney Rocha. The group delivered its thirsty post-grunge sounds throughout the L.A. club circuit, later securing opening slots with Buckcherry and the Cult while also appearing at Woodstock '99. Their self-titled debut arrived in mid-2000 on Wind-Up and was produced by Sex Pistols' Steve Jones. American Pearl devoted the latter half of summer 2000 to shows alongside labelmates Creed.
