Amie Miriello

Possessing a commanding vocal delivery marked by a faint rasp along with commanding stage charisma, guitarist and songwriter Amie Miriello also demonstrates enough rock and pop acumen to transcend mere visual appeal in a music video. Residing in Stanford, CN, she began composing lyrics while still in fourth grade and took part in numerous high-school and community theatrical productions throughout her youth. During one summer she formed a friendship with guitarist Jay Dmuchowski; the pair quickly forged a tight creative partnership through collaborative songwriting sessions. At age 17 she relocated to New York, only to leave the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music shortly afterward so she could devote herself entirely to writing material. Together with Dmuchowski she formed the group Dirtie Blonde, which issued its self-titled album on Jive Records in 2006 and scored radio traction with the catchy single “Walk Over Me.” Although the project earned favorable reviews and steady airplay, the band dissolved soon after, prompting Miriello and Dmuchowski to resume performing intimate acoustic sets as a duo. Jive Records subsequently retained her as a solo act, releasing the title track of her debut album I Came Around as a single in 2008.
