Biography
Archimède came together in 2004 when brothers Nicolas and Frederic Boisnard set out to fuse French rock & roll with touches of classic British pop. The group, rooted in the small riverside village of Laval in northwestern France, spent its first years on the road across the nation, then came back to its hometown to lay down tracks for a full-length project in 2008. That self-titled debut appeared the following year and quickly drew listeners from beyond France, propelled by the lead single “Vilaine Canaiile,” whose video featured inventive homages to iconic album artwork. As support continued to build in the U.K., Germany, Australia, and Asia, the band headed back into the studio to complete its sophomore effort, Trafalgar, issued by Sony in 2011.
