Biography
Astralasia, the enigmatic collective blending ambient-dub with tribal house elements, aligns alongside fellow British electro-hippie mystics including Eat Static and Banco de Gaia, while maintaining ongoing partnerships with Suns of Arqa. Their initial outing, a self-titled record issued by the tiny Fungus imprint, paved the way for a transition to Magick Eye, whose inaugural output came in the form of the 1992 follow-up effort titled The Politics of Ecstasy. Following the delivery of three subsequent full-lengths, the group put forth the retrospective collection Astralogy before securing a U.S. contract with the industrial outfit Cleopatra, responsible for putting out The Space Between toward the end of 1996 along with a pair of 1997 releases known as Seven Pointed Star and Seven by Seven. White Bird emerged in the subsequent year as the eighth studio album produced across an equivalent span of time.
