Babylon A.D.

Babylon A.D. came together in 1986 in California’s Bay Area. Vocalist and songwriter Derek Davis joined forces with guitarists and music writers Dan De La Rosa and Ron Freschi, along with percussionist James Pacheco and bassist Eric Pacheco, all of whom had previously played in competing groups. Their union quickly drew the interest of Arista Records president and industry music mogul Clive Davis, who offered the band a contract after witnessing their showcase in Los Angeles, impressed by a three-song demo and homemade video. The self-titled debut appeared in 1990, while the follow-up album Nothing Sacred arrived two years later. After an extended period on Arista and a subsequent five-year break, the group moved to Apocalypse Records and issued American Blitzkrieg in 1999. That year also saw the release of Live in Your Face, a collection of live recordings. The musicians have named Led Zeppelin, UFO, Aerosmith, AC/DC, and Kiss among their influences.
