Emerging during the early 2020s, Nigerian Afrobeats artist Balloranking attracted notice through his catchy, rhythmic fusion of street pop and hip-hop. He built his profile via releases such as Zero Panic and Trench Kid before scoring key successes with tracks like the 2023 single “We Up,” which features D’Yani and appears on Ghetto Gospel. His many partnerships include work with Seyi Vibez and BhadBoi OML, the latter of whom joined him on the 2024 project Zero Panic, Vol. 2.

Born Balogun Olamilekan in Lagos’s Coker neighborhood, he began creating music in his late teens and spent time working as a graphic designer. Signed to Dvpper Music, his debut album Zero Panic arrived in 2021 and displayed a rhythmic approach that drew equally from hip-hop and the dominant Afropop sound. The 2022 follow-up Trench Kid included contributions from Seyi Vibez and Bad Boy Timz. Ghetto Gospel, issued in 2023, stood as his most prominent release to date and produced the breakout “We Up” with D’Yani along with “Hustle Hard” and “Alive.” That year he also issued the EP Ghetto Vibrations, which contained the track “Born Fi Dis.” Ahead of the November 2024 arrival of Zero Panic, Vol. 2, he collaborated with L.A.X., Tml Vibez, and Skiibii.
