Biography
Inspired by the explosive riffs and anthemic choruses of pop-metal, Boston ensemble Bang Camaro began as a passion project for guitarists Bryn Bennett of Model Sons and Alex Necochea of Bleu and the Good North. United by their enthusiasm for Ratt and Dokken, among others, the pair launched an effort that spotlighted guitar solos and stirring refrains in place of verses; the undertaking soon grew to feature three guitarists, a bassist, a drummer, and as many as 20 vocalists—all billed as lead singers—who called themselves “the Choir.” Following the 2007 release of their self-titled debut album, the group mounted a U.S. tour in 2008 that included a Lollapalooza appearance. Bang Camaro II arrived that November, supplying a further set of ’80s-styled rock.
