Biography
The five musicians behind Bedroom Walls—Adam Goldman on guitar and vocals, Kris Canning on bass, Sean Hoffman on guitar, Vanessa Kaufman on drums, and Aurisha Smolarski on violin—generate the group’s romanticore sound. Members of the Los Angeles indie rock outfit themselves devised the term romanticore to evoke the dreamy, bittersweet, and at times moody atmosphere that defines their music. In 2002 the engineer Rafter Roberts, known for his work with Black Heart Procession, GoGoGo Airheart, and the Album Leaf, entered Singing Serpent Studios in San Diego with Bedroom Walls to track the band’s first album. The luxurious I Saw You Coming Back to Me appeared the following summer in 2003. All Good Dreamers Pass This Way arrived three years after that.
