Biography
Bella Morte crafts shadowed darkwave and goth rock for the new millennium by weaving rapid synth pulses through enigmatic, somber vocals in a style that recalls the gothic industrial approach of Nitzer Ebb. Formed by residents of the Charlottesville, Virginia suburbs, the band includes frontman Andrew Deane, guitarist Gopal Metro, and occasional programmer/bassist Bn. Its sound draws frequent comparisons to fellow goth rock acts such as the Cruxshadows, Rosetta Stone, and Sisters of Mercy. After issuing two albums on the independent label SomeWearLeather in the late 1990s, Bella Morte moved to Cleopatra for the mid-2000 release of Where the Shadows Lie.
