Biography
In 1985, Alexander Veljanov joined Ernst Horn to launch Deine Lakaien, the avant-garde electronic ensemble steeped in atmospheric darkwave. An orchestra conductor by training, Horn partnered with Veljanov, a scholar of theater history, to issue multiple albums that translate their broad shared influences—opera, pop, punk, medieval, new wave, and folk music—into signature experimental arrangements. The recordings earned the duo a firmly established place in Europe’s avant pop ranks. Their newest undertaking sends the pair on an orchestral tour accompanied by the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt symphony orchestra.
