Rotersand

Drawing from both techno and rock traditions, the German EBM outfit Rotersand cultivated a reputation for commanding stage presence while maintaining a steady stream of new recordings. The project originated in 2002 in Gelsenkirchen, Nordrhein-Westfalen, with core members Gun—born Gunther Gerl—Rasc, born Rascal Nikov, and Krischan, born Krischan Jan-Eric Wesenberg. Their first offering arrived via Endless Records as the 2003 album Truth Is Fanatic, issued alongside the same-year EP Merging Oceans. After moving to Dependent Records, the group delivered the 2005 album Welcome to Goodbye, backed by the single Exterminate Annihilate Destroy and the 2006 EP Dare to Live: Perspectives on Welcome to Goodbye. International rollout of their third album, 1023, occurred in 2007 through Dependent for the European Union, Metropolis for the United States, and Soyuz for Russia.
