Blindside

The quartet of Marcus Dahlström on drums, Simon Grenehed on guitar, Christian Lindskog on vocals, and Tomas Naslund on bass began performing in Stockholm, Sweden, under the name Underfree and maintained that identity throughout their initial two years. They adopted the name Blindside in 1996 when they issued their second demo. Day-Glo Records, already active in Sweden’s Christian heavy metal circuit, issued the band’s self-titled debut album the following year. A distribution arrangement with Tooth and Nail Records paved the way for the Empty Box EP in 1998. The Thought Crushed My Mind appeared in early 2000. Two years afterward the group delivered Silence, marking their first release on Elektra. September and October brought tours shared with Hoobastank and P.O.D.
