Nestled by chance in Transylvania County, Pennsylvania, Bloody Hammers fuse a sinister fusion of psych-blasted occult rock, heavy metal, goth rock, and doom metal. The outfit surfaced in the opening years of the 2010s, igniting widespread interest in 2014 through their first Napalm Records offering, Under Satan's Sun. Centered on the husband-and-wife partnership of vocalist, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Anders Manga with keyboardist Devallia, the project took shape when the pair founded it in 2010. Their self-titled debut arrived independently two years afterward, followed in 2013 by Spiritual Relics, which prompted Napalm Records to enlist the self-described “Southern gothic mountain fuzz” devotees. Under Satan's Sun, merging occult-themed desert hard rock with schlocky '70s horror theatricality, surfaced that same year and led to the band’s initial European tour. Lovely Sort of Death materialized two years afterward, succeeded in 2017 by the EP The Horrific Case of Bloody Hammers. The doomy Summoning LP appeared in 2019, and the retro horror-punk opus Songs of Unspeakable Terror closed out the sequence in 2021.
