Blues Etílicos

The Blues Etílicos ranks as Brazil’s top-selling blues act. Guitarist/vocalist Greg Wilson and drummer Gil Eduardo joined the lineup in 1987, altering the group’s configuration. Its debut release, the 1988 album Blues Etílicos (Satisfaction), sold out right away and later appeared on CD in 1996. After founder Flávio Guimarães launched a solo path in 1995, the ensemble pressed ahead while fusing Brazilian rhythms into its rock and blues foundation. Across six albums in all, Dente de Ouro (1996) weaves capoeira and baião elements into the band’s distinctive blues-rock approach. “Safra de 63” remains its biggest hit.
