Biography
Vocalist India Shore and guitarist Claire Altendahl form the Brooklyn duo Boyish, whose dynamic indie pop and rock confronts themes of heartbreak, queerness, family drama, and existential angst. The pair came together in 2016 at the Berklee College of Music, issuing the gritty, alt-country-styled Carnation in 2018 before the like-minded Garden Spider followed in 2020. Lockdown conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic prompted Shore and Altendahl to overhaul their approach, resulting in the 2022 release of the passionate, indie rock-leaning EP My Friend Mica and 2023's Little Demon Boy, the latter featuring the King Princess-assisted hit "Kill Your Pain."
