Chaim

Chaim, the tech-house producer whose real name is Chaim Avital, first appeared early in 2007. Before that year closed he had already turned out nearly a dozen 12-inch singles—among them joint productions with fellow Israeli Guy Gerber—while supplying remixes for a comparable number of tracks, matching a John Tejada-like pace of melodic work on imprints including Supplement Facts, My Best Friend, Turbo, and Love Minus Zero. Though he kept a lower profile from 2008 through 2010, he eventually aligned with Ellen Allien’s respected Berlin-based Bpitch Control label, where five singles preceded the 2011 release of Alive, his debut album.
