Biography
Austrian rapper Chakuza traced a path of commercial success modeled after his guiding figure and supporter Bushido. Peter Pangerl entered the world in Linz on February 22, 1981, and made his initial mark alongside DJ Stickle and MC J within the collective Verbale Systematik. Though that outfit dissolved rapidly, Chakuza and DJ Stickle soon reformed their partnership under the production banner Beatlefield, whose studio work drew the notice of German hip-hop luminary Bushido and earned them a contract on the ersguterjunge imprint. Following the 2006 release Bushido Presents Ersguterjunge Sampler, Vol.1: Nemesis, which reached the German Top Five, Chakuza stepped forward as a solo act by teaming with Bizzy Montana on the joint project Blackout. The 2007 album City Cobra, his first proper solo effort, climbed to number ten on the strength of the crossover single “Eure Kinder,” which featured Bushido. Unter der Sonne arrived the next year carrying guest spots from both Bushido and Bizzy Montana, and it registered strongly across the German, Austrian, and Swiss rankings. Monster in Mir from 2010 and Magnolia from 2013 each landed inside Germany’s Top Ten.
