Biography
Chancha Vía Circuito serves as the recording alias for cumbia digital producer Pedro Canale, whose ties run to the Argentine dance club Zizek along with its affiliated imprint ZZK Records. Drawing from multiple cumbia variants such as Columbian cumbia, Mexican cumbia sonidera and Argentine cumbia villera, together with reggae and electronica, Canale first appeared on record in 2007 via the independently issued Kumbias Gauchito EP. The year 2008 brought the Rodante EP on ZZK Records, the Buenos Aires dance club Zizek’s offshoot label, at which Canale oversees the merchandise booth. That same year he joined a Zikek package tour of North America alongside Villa Diamante, Fauna and Bersa Discos.
