Biography
Having co-founded the influential world music/fusion band Shadowfax, Greenberg performed on flute, saxophone, and keyboards as one of its original participants. The California-based artist earned particular recognition for his command of the Lyricon, the electronic wind instrument he helped develop. That instrument lent an ethereal quality to his masterful melodic improvisations. In his role as composer, Greenberg wove rock, pop, and jazz elements into his work while maintaining a progressive edge. A heart attack caused Greenberg’s death in 1995.
