Biography
Comedian Dan Cummins scrutinizes the ridiculous elements of everyday existence across the United States through an easygoing performance style, an approach that positioned him among the top draws on the college circuit. The Idaho native played more than 100 campuses throughout the 2007-2008 academic year and simultaneously expanded into television with appearances on Comedy Central, The Tonight Show, and Last Comic Standing. Momentum grew further when his first album, Revenge Is Near, arrived in 2009.
Once the 2010 Comedy Central special Crazy with a Capital F had aired, he maintained an intensive touring schedule that took him to the Aspen Comedy Festival, Montreal Comedy Festival, and the 2011 Nando's Comedy Festival in South Africa. After securing a recurring weekly slot on Sirius XM's Naked and Fearless program on Blue Collar Radio, he captured a live set at Portland, Oregon's Helium Comedy Club and issued the recording in 2012 as Hear This!. The same year he joined the ensemble of TruTV's World's Dumbest..., and by 2013 he had begun serving as consulting producer on several cable reality series including Duck Dynasty and Porter Ridge.
During 2015 Cummins put out the 30-minute standup album Chinese Affection while Splattered Ink Press issued his adult picture book Daddy Bear: Three Rabbits Meet the Real World. He also embarked on an over 200-episode tenure hosting the talk show The Playboy Morning Show and contributed multiple scripts to the 2016 Family Channel sitcom Raising Expectations, which featured Molly Ringwald and Jason Priestley. Still active on the road with his standup material, he delivered his fifth comedy album, Don't Wake the Bear, in September 2016; the release compiled more than an hour of performances recorded the previous year at The Depot in Salt Lake City.
