Biography
Daniel Tashian, a multi-instrumentalist singer and songwriter, diverges markedly in musical approach from his father, the cult hero Barry Tashian who fronted the legendary New England garage rock band Barry & the Remains. Folk-rock forms the foundation of his sound, which echoes the styles of Michael Penn, Lisa Germano, and Sam Phillips; T-Bone Burnett, the spouse of the latter, oversaw production on his first release, the 1996 album Sweetie. Residing in Nashville, he engages in production and performance alongside numerous fellow musicians, with alt country singer/songwriter Julian Dawson standing out among them, while also curating a weekly gathering for songwriters at the renowned local venue 12th and Porter.
