Biography
Drawing from jazz, rock, and the contemporary acoustic approaches associated with Windham Hill players such as Alex de Grassi and Michael Hedges, the Colorado-based guitarist Heines merges these strands in his work. Heines nevertheless moves past those sources to shape a lively, distinctive voice. He regularly joins forces with other forward-thinking musicians of the present day, most prominently several guest vocalists and the respected bassist Michael Manring on the 2002 album What Worlds They Bring.
