Davina

Possessing vocals both smoky and smooth, Davina—born Davina Bussey—rose rapidly into the upper ranks of Detroit pop. Her 1997 debut album Best Of Both Worlds contained the hit single "So Good," which appeared in Hoodlum, the film starring Laurence Fishburne and Tim Roth.

The sister of a piano player, she mastered the fundamentals of music theory, songwriting, publishing, producing, engineering, and record-label management. In a 2001 interview she defined her aims as "singing about life…and how everything comes from life; love, sexual energy, spiritual energy." ~ Craig Harris
