Biography
Jeugd van Tegenwoordig, whose name roughly translates to “Kids These Days,” was a hip-hop outfit never meant to be regarded too seriously. The lineup comprised Vieze Fur—known under various aliases including Vieze Freddie and Baksteen, and whose given name was Freddie Tratlehner—P. Faberge, who also answered to P. Drong and Peppie and was born Pepijn Lanen, plus Willie Wartaal, born Ollicio Locadia. De Jeugd earned its reputation chiefly through a string of novelty hip-hop singles that enjoyed chart success, and in 2005 the group issued its debut album, Parels Voor de Zwijnen, which translates to Pearls Before Swine.
