Prior to achieving recognition as the first runner-up on Indonesian Idol, Stanislaus Alexander Liauw Delon Thamrin, born May 20, 1978, in Jakarta, had pursued several unrelated careers despite an early childhood aptitude for singing in church. After earning an English degree, he spent time as a door-to-door salesman and later in import-export work before taking up occasional performances as a wedding singer, an experience that prompted his decision to audition for the reality competition. His run on the program, which concluded in December 2004, featured interpretations of material by Padi, Glenn Fredly, and Clay Aiken. In the months that followed, he secured prominent regional appearances, among them an opening slot for Air Supply, and issued his debut album, Bahagaiku, before the year ended. Over the ensuing period he put out two additional solo albums, the last being 2008’s Perasaanku, while also contributing tracks to various soundtracks and compilations.
