Biography
British math rock quartet Delta Sleep built a devoted audience by merging unconventional rhythmic patterns with accessible pop melodies, highlighted by their well-received albums Ghost City from 2018 and Spring Island from 2021. The group originated in Canterbury, Kent, before relocating to Brighton, where they began performing with greater commitment. Its lineup features Devin Yuceil on lead vocals and guitar, Glen Hodgson handling vocals and guitar, Dave Jackson contributing vocals and bass, and Blake Mostyn on vocals and drums. Delta Sleep issued their self-titled debut EP in 2010, then signed with Big Scary Monsters, which released the subsequent album Management in 2013. They appeared at the post/math/noise rock Arctangent Festival in 2015, followed by the 2016 release of Twin Galaxies. To prepare their next record, the members traveled to Italy for sessions at MAM Studios, resulting in the 2018 arrival of Ghost City, which earned praise and paved the way for a world tour the next year. The Younger Years EP surfaced quietly that September, while July 2020 brought Soft Sounds, an assortment of pared-down versions drawn from their catalog and captured during live travels. After the 2021 Old Soul EP, Spring Island marked the band's inaugural full-length issued on their independent imprint Sofa Boy Records.
