After completing a period of service in the U.S. Air Force, New Jersey resident Dennis Taylor turned his full attention to music. A connection arranged by mutual acquaintance Robin S. linked him to producer Fred McFarlane, which directly led to the release of his breakthrough album Enough Is Enough on Dome Records. Darryl James joined McFarlane in shaping the project, which blends R&B grooves into a modern sound carried by Taylor’s baritone voice—an instrument that echoes the classic lower registers of earlier eras while aligning with those of present-day figures Donnell Jones, Uncle Sam, and Will Downing. Like many adult R&B artists, Taylor enjoys greater recognition abroad, particularly throughout the United Kingdom, where festival appearances and a performance at London’s Jazz Café have marked his career. He continues to collaborate with James, the mix show DJ heard on New York’s WRKS.
