Biography
Since 1989 DJ Dolores has maintained an active role in Recife’s Brazilian music community. Capturing and repurposing ambient recordings from the city, he layers street sounds with his own electronic programming to create original tracks. His scoring work encompasses cinema, notably the major production O Rap do Pequeno Príncipe Contra as Almas Sebosas directed by Paulo Caldas and Marcelo Luna, as well as theater, including A Máquina written by João Falcão. He has also appeared at the Free Jazz Festival 2001, Abril Pro Rock 2001, and Strictly Mundial 2001 in Salvador, Bahia, contributed to Adriana Calcanhotto’s CD Marítimo, and performed with the Orchestra Santa Massa.
