The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist constitute a longstanding religious order whose worship and contemplative practices follow the Dominican tradition. Their recorded output has emerged directly from this shared life, achieving a level of integration and continuity that has fueled notable commercial reach across the United States and internationally.

Established in 1997 after Pope John Paul II issued a call for spiritual renewal, the community settled in Ann Arbor, Michigan, at the invitation of Lansing diocese bishop Carl Frederick Mengeling. There they assumed direction of the Spiritus Sanctus Academies, institutions first created by Domino’s Pizza founder and Catholic philanthropist Tom Monaghan. Their Motherhouse stands next to the Domino’s Farms campus that houses the company’s global headquarters.

The Sisters’ initial three recordings are presented on their site expressly as instruments of evangelization, an aim reflected in their multiple appearances on the Oprah television program and a 2012 appearance on the American Bible Challenge. Each album was captured inside the Motherhouse, the focal point of everyday life for the 128 members. Mater Eucharistiae, issued in 2013 on the de Montfort label and subsequently taken up by Decca, was followed by The Rosary: Mysteries, Meditations, and Music; both discs emphasize unadorned religious observance through chant, original hymns, spoken prayers, and visual elements such as the Rosary-bead diagram included on the second release. Their third project, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring: Christmas with the Dominican Sisters of Mary, appeared on Sony Classical. This combination of musical, liturgical, and communal achievement prompted plans to expand beyond Michigan, and in 2017 the Sisters were developing a new foundation in the Austin, Texas area.
