Singer/songwriter Audrey Assad, originally from New York, launched her career once she settled in Florida at 18. There the spiritually centered artist chose to channel her efforts exclusively into matters of faith. A series of regional performances and worship gatherings soon led her to Nashville, where she issued the five-track EP Fireflies, which caught the ear of CCM imprint Sparrow Records. She refined her skills further by penning material for fellow acts and joining Dove Award-winning artist Chris Tomlin on the road. Her first full-length release on Sparrow, The House You're Building, reached stores on July 13, 2010. Strong sales and favorable reviews opened the door to 2012’s Heart, an album whose songs were largely self-written yet also drew input from Matt Maher, Christopher Stevens, Derek Webb, and Sandra McCracken. The independent effort Fortunate Fall surfaced in August 2013, and Inheritance followed in early 2016; each set climbed to number two on the U.S. Billboard Folk Albums chart. Assad resurfaced in 2018 with her fifth studio album, Evergreen.
