An American singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Dylan LeBlanc crafts a smoky, languid strain of Americana steeped in the influences of Townes Van Zandt and Fleet Foxes while drawing from an eclectic range of sources that ultimately tilt toward the sounds of the Deep South. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, he is the son of longtime Muscle Shoals session player, singer, songwriter, and guitarist James LeBlanc. Growing up amid many of the area’s most accomplished musicians, LeBlanc started composing original material at age 11. By his late teens he had honed a soulful, blues-inflected vocal and guitar approach deeply shaped by the regional music that surrounded him.

He made his recording debut in 2010 at age 19 with the brooding, sparse, country-folk-leaning Paupers Field, issued on Rough Trade. A similarly introspective follow-up, Cast the Same Old Shadow, appeared in 2012. On 2016’s Cautionary Tale LeBlanc expanded his sound with the addition of a full backing band, yielding a lush and compelling result. The more pop-oriented Renegade arrived in 2019 and featured its title track on Billboard’s Adult Alternative Songs chart. In 2023 he delivered the self-produced Coyote, a partially autobiographical concept album exploring themes of self-destruction, commitment, and resilience.
