Biography
Norwegian singer/songwriter Børge Sildnes first adopted the Dylan Mondegreen alias in 2005. Under that name he shaped airy material that blended an indie-rock lilt with the hazy atmosphere of 1970s soft rock. His first full-length effort, While I Walk You Home, appeared in September 2007. Critics and listeners alike responded warmly, likening the songs to those of Jens Lekman, Prefab Sprout, and other indie troubadours spanning multiple decades. The positive reaction broadened his reach, opening doors to festival slots and a subsequent tour of Japan. Two years later he issued the follow-up The World Spins On. In 2013 he returned with the self-titled Dylan Mondegreen, produced by Ian Catt—known for his work with Saint Etienne and the Field Mice—and issued on Shelflife Records. Both that album and its successor drew inspiration from Sildnes’s young daughter and family life. The more relaxed, home-centered Every Little Step surfaced in April 2016.
