Biography
Emerging from ties to the youth-focused telenovela Morangos com Açúcar, Portuguese boy band D'ZRT achieved immediate chart-topping success with its 2005 debut. Singer/actors Paulo Vintém, Angélico Vieira, Vítor Fonseca, and Edmundo Vieira had first reached television the prior year during the second season of Morangos com Açúcar, appearing respectively as Topê, David, Zé Milho, and Ruca. Later that same year D'ZRT issued its self-titled album, which held the top spot on the Portuguese charts for 21 weeks. The follow-ups Ao Vivo no Coliseus (2005), Original (2006), and Project (2009) likewise reached number one. Angélico became the first bandmember to launch a solo career, delivering his own self-titled album in 2008 that peaked in the Top Five.
