Just Girls

Forming in Lisbon, the Portuguese teen pop quartet Just Girls first drew attention through their link to the youth-centered television drama Morangos com Açucar. Singers Ana Maria Velez, Diana Monteiro, Helga Posser, and Kiara Timas comprise the lineup, whose self-titled debut arrived in 2007 on the Farol Música label. That eponymous release, Just Girls, topped the charts, earned four-times platinum certification, and launched the hit single "O Jogo Já Começou (Sorte ou Azar)." The following year brought the equally successful DVD Dança e Canta com Elas. Their sophomore album, Play Me (2009), likewise performed strongly, landing at number two on the Portuguese albums chart and achieving double-platinum status while yielding the single "Entre o Sonho e a Ilusão"; a live DVD, Ao Vivo No Campo Pequeno (2009), followed in its wake.
