Biography
Eastern Standard Time assembled a roster drawn from former players in the Pietasters, the Skunks, the Checkered Cabs, and the Downbeat Rulers, thereby incorporating personnel from virtually all Washington, D.C. ska outfits active during the 1990s. Adhering closely to the foundational style of Jamaican ska developed in the 1960s, the group went on to share stages with the Skatalites, Laurel Aitken, Bad Manners, Hep Cat, and the Specials, after which they secured a recording contract with Beatville Records. Their first album, titled Second Hand, appeared in 1998.
