Biography
Edward Bear originated in 1967 with Larry Evoy on drums and vocals, Danny Marks on guitar, and Paul Weldon on organ before securing a deal with Capitol. Their opening album Bearings yielded the single “You, Me & Mexico,” which entered the Canadian Top Ten in 1970. Following the second LP Eclipse, the 1972 release “Last Song” became another success on both sides of the border and moved more than a million copies. Marks and Weldon departed shortly afterward, replaced by Roger Ellis and Bob Kendall, neither of whom remained beyond two years. Additional titles include a self-titled album issued in 1972, Close Your Eyes from 1973, The Best of the Bear (1984), and The Edward Bear Collection (1991).
