Formed in Vancouver in 1976, the Canadian soft rock outfit Prism began life with vocalist Ron Tabak, guitarist Lindsay Mitchell, bassist Allan Harlow, drummer Rocket Norton, and keyboard player John Hall in the lineup. First known as Stanley Screamer, the group landed a contract with GRT Records and issued its self-titled debut in 1977, See Forever Eyes in 1978, and Armageddon in 1979. Once Hall and Tabak departed—the latter supplanted by Henry Small—Prism switched to Capitol and delivered Young and Restless in 1980, Small Change in 1981, and, following the 1982 breakup, Beat Street in 1983. The 1988 compilation Over 60 Minutes with...Prism gathered the band’s biggest tracks.
